Dance India Dance’ star studded finale packed all the excitement and talent that the viewers expect from it. Rourkela’s Rajsmitha Kar was announced the winner, much to the joy of Geeta Kapoor, who is called Maa by the contestant. Rajsmitha was the only female finalist. She was competing with Raghave Juyal and Pradeep Gurung for the title.
This 17 week long contest saw immense dancing talent from all over the country and even some international cities. 18 contestants were chosen for the show after the preliminary auditions.
The finale was held in Mumbai on 21 April and was watched by millions of people across the globe. The show boasted of a Mardi Gras themed act by the anchors, Saumya Tandon and Jay Bhanushali.
Choreographer and celebrity judge Terence Lewis danced on the super hit song, Sadda Haq. Geeta Kapoor also graced the stage while Remo D Souza gave a heart thumping performance on Don 2’s hit number, Zara Dil Ko Thaam Lo.
Rajsmitha is naturally over the moon after her win. She looked extremely surprised and overwhelmed with emotions after the win. She gave the credit of her success to her family and her “guru” Geeta Kapoor, who was also overcome by emotions. Rajsmitha plans to buy a house with the prize money.
